Last time the Skillen’s and the Darby’s went on a golf tour, we got to the last game and the girls decided to go shopping, which left the boys to go play golf by themselves. We played Bangpoo that time and loved it.
This time we were looking forward to seeing if the course was still as pleasant as two years ago and we were not disappointed. The fairways are excellent and the greens are very good, the bunkers were a bit hard but consistent.
We loved the way the water ran along side the fairways but you always had options to avoid it. On the holes where you had to hit over the water, the layup options still gave you a good approach to the green so it relied on accuracy rather than consistently hitting long shots.
Bruce started off on fire with approach shots landing within a meter of the hole on the first five holes. Unfortunately he only got two of the puts for par. It was still a very good first nine.
The second nine started off consistently, but with nothing much good happening. it was still a great round up until the last couple of holes, where for no reason at all he double bogeyed them.
Neil also enjoyed his game and only had a come of wobbly shots. Coincidently, we both scored exactly the same gross scores as two years ago. Really good way to finish a golfing holiday.
Every time we come to Bangkok, Bruce tries to orientate himself relative the above building, he now knows that the building is just across the street from the Pullman G where we are staying.
