Rosie and I are going to start getting a bit more exercise while also travelling around the local sites. Rosie got herself a Gazelle Grenoble c7 e-bike and Bruce bought a Kalkhoff Endeavour. We did a test run into town yesterday and cruised up and down the hill at Basildene. Both bikes have pedal assist and in “Turbo” mode and a low gear they makes hills very easy. The are both touring/commuting bikes, we have no intentions of bouncing down bush trails.
Today we rode out to Prevelly and went to Sea Gardens, this was a 14km round trip and we both found it quite easy. Bruce went up the steep hill from the cafe easily, reaching 24km/h when he reached Wallcliffe Rd. Rosie had a slight problem, but then did well.
Our next ride will most probably be to Witchcliffe, which should be around 20km return.
